You are a caretaker, a fixer, a hard worker, a lifelong achiever. The image you maintain for the outside world comes at the expense of your energy, vitality, and peace of mind. Internally, you feel numb, insecure, dissatisfied, lonely, excluded. Discontent eats away at you despite the success you’ve earned. Maybe you are living on autopilot; drifting through life or stuck in frustrating, repeating patterns.
Perhaps you are tired of being so hard on yourself. Fear of failure, rejection, or unrealized potential keep you up at night. You replay hurtful words and experiences from your past, or spiral into overwhelming worries about future challenges.
If you provided yourself the time and space to explore, heal, and grow, how might life be different? How might you be different?
You could discover a peace within yourself and in relationships with others that allows you to live with authenticity, vitality, and confidence. You could reconnect with your emotions and learn how to safely experience and express the range of emotions that make us all human. You could even develop new beliefs and behaviors that help you construct a more fulfilling, rewarding life.
My passion is creating a safe, compassionate space for you to feel, to question, to grieve, to learn, to experiment, to reconcile, to celebrate, and ultimately to grow and heal.
To lay the foundation, I blend evidence-based treatments with aspects of holistic wellness. Together, we will make sense of how you’re impacted by your past experiences and current contexts, allowing you to tap into your inner healer and regain a sense of autonomy. We will practice new coping skills to break the habits that numb and distract. We will find healthy ways to overcome challenge, sooth your stress, and find joy in life again. We will identify relationship and behavior patterns that no longer serve you. We’ll identify your deepest values and learn to use them to guide your decision-making, increasing authenticity and confidence. Through this work, we’ll uncover your personal strengths and how to use them to achieve your goals.
In our work, I will honor your diverse background and identities. I work from an anti-oppression and multicultural feminist perspective. I align myself with the Health at Every Size movement.
As a self-compassion advocate, I’ll help you make peace with regret, move through shame, reevaluate perfectionist standards, and confront your inner critic. I’ll encourage you to value caring for your needs to support a secure sense of self-worth. I’ll walk with you through the exciting unknown of translating these new perspectives and skills to life outside the therapy office.
I grew up in small-town Wisconsin in an active, creative family. As a typical middle child, I developed empathy toward the emotions and needs of others. Through life’s twists and turns, I became curious about the processes of forming one’s personal identity, finding meaning in experiences, developing resiliency and adapting to unfamiliar environments. I sought to grow those strengths within myself throughout my personal and professional life. I pursued education in psychology and counseling to make use of my natural tendency toward compassion, introspection and valuing relationships.
I’m a fairly recent transplant to the Seattle area and have fallen in love with the serenity of living near evergreen forests, bodies of water, and snow-capped mountains. In my personal life, I am most motivated by cultivating deep relationships and new experiences. In my free time, you can find me having long conversations over dirty chai lattes, enjoying the performing arts, trying out new restaurants, cheering for my favorite teams, and exploring the beauty of the PNW.
I lived in North Carolina for many years where I earned both my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Mater’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During that time, I worked in my university’s Office of Disability Services, where I came to recognize my passion for promoting equity and inclusion. After completing my graduate degree in 2014, I began my counseling career in Charlotte providing individual and group therapy services to underserved populations in outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment programs. I moved to Southern California to work in residential addiction treatment in 2018, where I discovered the scorching realities of living in the desert. In 2019, I relocated to the Seattle area to cool off and contribute to the opening of a new outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment program where I focused on providing mental health therapy. Additionally I have experience providing clinical services in hospitals, university counseling centers, and private practice settings.

I am not paneled with any insurance company. My clients attend therapy on an out-of-network basis or pay for sessions out of pocket. If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits, please contact your insurance company prior to our first meeting. Ask what the out-of-network reimbursement would be for outpatient in-person or online psychotherapy. The specific amount of this reimbursement depends on your plan. I will provide you with the statements your insurance requires.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
