Mission and Values

Our Mission

We believe that the people who care for everyone else deserve care too.

At Thrive for the People, we help helpers, givers, fixers, and high achievers build lives that are free from burnout, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or over-responsibility.

Our mission is to elevate mental health to its rightful place in society by creating a culture where caring for ourselves is viewed as a necessity, not a luxury. We believe that when we honor our needs, set healthy boundaries, take responsibility for our growth, and practice self-compassion, we become more present in our lives, our relationships, and our communities.

We believe that caring for ourselves is the most essential, authentic, powerful, and rebellious thing that we can do.

Meaningful healing happens through connection to ourselves, to one another, to our communities, and to a deeper sense of purpose. When we feel more connected, we are better able to live with intention, love with vulnerability, and contribute from a place of fullness rather than depletion.

Our Values

Transformative Change

We are committed to creating meaningful, lasting change. We help clients understand the patterns beneath their symptoms so they can create sustainable transformation. We believe relationships are both the source of many of our wounds and the pathway to healing. While insight, knowledge, and coping skills can be helpful, lasting change often occurs when we experience something different in relationships. Therefore, the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of our work.

Courageous Authenticity

Growth requires honesty. We value vulnerability, direct communication, and the willingness to face difficult truths with compassion. We believe that we are never finished learning, stretching, failing, expanding, and transforming. Mistakes, set backs, and ruptures are welcomed parts of the process.

Accountability With Compassion

Healing is about taking ownership of our patterns while treating ourselves with kindness and understanding. Compassion is a constant practice to let go of shame, guilt, perfectionism, and othering. It is moving toward our suffering and whole selves with acceptance and shared humanity.

Excellence

We are committed to excellence, not perfection.

To us, excellence means showing up with integrity, intention, humility, and a genuine desire to grow. It means doing our best, remaining curious, seeking feedback, and continually refining our craft. We are committed to providing therapy that is thoughtful, effective, and grounded in evidence-based practice.

Community

We are proud to be rooted in the Ballard neighborhood and the greater Seattle community. We value the connections we have with local businesses, organizations, healthcare providers, and fellow therapists who contribute to the health and vitality of our city.

We also recognize the importance of our professional community. Consultation, collaboration, and lifelong learning help us grow as clinicians and prevent us from becoming isolated in our work. We believe we do our best work when we remain connected to others who challenge, support, and inspire us.
